Whispers of a Faded Dreamer

About the Book

In this unusual Christian fantasy novel, Cara Pierce wants to help people. She wants love, but making connections in real life just isn’t something she’s good at. Through an unsettling turn of events, Cara finds herself a mostly-willing participant in a bizarre life in which she only feels truly alive in her dreams. Her surreal adventures in other realms seem important, somehow. And, almost every night, she dreams of the same guy - Blaze Saxon.

In the end, only whispers remain. But the end is only the beginning.

This is the story of a faded dreamer.

My Review

Whispers of a Faded Dreamer is an adventure packed book. It touches on spiritual warfare and dreams are more than just dreams. It has bits of romantic elements to keep romance readers happy. This book is aimed at teens and young adults.

You cannot prepare yourself for this book. It's a completely unique read and the end is unexpected. It did remind me a bit of Pilgrim's Progress. It reads like an allegory as you follow the life of one person, Cara Pierce. She is similar to a pilgrim on the journey of life. That journey is fraught with challenges and she is faced with choices. Unlike Pilgrim's Progress, this book is really fun to read. It moves quickly, perhaps too quickly as characters are partially developed.

I highly recommend this book to all teenage girls.
