Christmas Eve Dinner with Linky

Welcome to my Picture Perfect
Party Linky #224!

We had a wonderful time at my in-laws' beach house. My mom-in-law always cooks wonderful food and my father-in-law did all the braaing (barbecuing). This was our Christmas Eve meal. The Springbok Sosaties (Kebabs) and Sprinkbok Boerewors (Sausage) came from the neighbors. The Sheep Tails were our starters and came from a cute farm stall, which was originally an old school house. It was the first time any of us had ever eaten them and they were delicious! Probably because my mom-in-law prepared them so well.

Christmas Eve Family Tradition -
Jeremiah, Jessica, Samantha, and Amanda

Our Christmas Eve family tradition is for the kids to open one present each. This comes from my European roots where all the presents are opened on Christmas Eve. My mom and dad started that with us (my brother and I). I found out that the South African neighbors (who gave the Springbok) also open all their presents on Christmas Eve. That's because Christmas morning for them is dedicated to going to church and celebrating the birth of Jesus.

I invite you to share any interesting traditions that you might celebrate in the comments.
